Feed Grade Soya Lecithin
ESSEMM Feed Grade Soya Lecithin
Nature’s Gift for Multifunctional Applications in Food, Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, and More
Lecithin, a naturally occurring group of phospholipids, is a vital and versatile active substance found in almost every living cell. It serves as a fundamental ingredient in the manufacturing processes of various products, including food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and animal feeds. With its wide range of functional, nutritional, and therapeutic properties, lecithin plays a crucial role in enhancing product quality and overall well-being.
Renowned for its natural composition, lecithin is a valuable dietary source of essential phospholipids. These include Phosphatidyl Choline, Phosphatidyl Ethanolamine, Phosphatidyl Inositol, and Phosphatidyl Serine, which are essential nutrients for optimal cell membrane function throughout the body. These phospholipids act as the building blocks of life, supporting the healthy functioning of cells.
Application
In Feed Industries: Soya Lecithin Liquid – Feed, is used as Natural Emulsifier, Wetting agent, Dispersing agent, Stabilizing agent, Viscosity Reducing Agent, Anti-spattering agent, Mixing & Blending agent, Release agent, Conditioning, Lipotropic, Surface active agent and as an Emollient and Antioxidant as well.
In live-stock production the emulsifying properties of lecithin are made use of in the area where animals are given liquid food containing a large proportion of fat. These are primarily milk replacers for calves and cow’s milk substitute for piglets. The energy supplier milk fat with cheaper type of fat. However, the digestibility of fats (not present in milk is considerably less). Use of lecithin in synthetic feed (up to 2.00%) considerable enhances the fat digestibility. In addition to this, feeding of lecithin also helps in calf rearing and fattening.
Shrimp / Prawn and Fish: lecithin exercise a beneficial effect on the health growth and feed utilization of trout, especially where fat is added to the diet. The addition of lecithin helps prevent liver metabolism disorders and shrimp/ fish already suffering from fatty liver degeneration make a rapid recovery.
Lecithin for aquatic diets
- Lecithin is used as an ingredient in aquatic diets to provide the phospholipids needed for growth enhancement and for effective utilization of lipids such as triglycerides and cholesterol.
- Proven important to the omega 3 fatty acid ratio in the reproductive process.
- A correlation has been identified between brood stock reproductive performances and fatty acid patterns of the diet.
- Important during larval development to insure successful development and survival.
- for enhancement of solubilization of certain fats.
- Lecithin is an excellent source of all essential phospholipid.
Pigs: artificial cow’s milk has parts to play in feeding of suckling piglets where the cow is unable to produce enough milk. Use of lecithin up to 1.5% in the piglet feed supplement results in increased weight gain in specific time as against feed supplements without lecithin.
Hens: chicks display better growth and enhanced vitamin ‘a’ storage in liver when they receive lecithin (1.0%) in their diet. Beneficial effect on bone formation was also observed. In addition to above, no psoriasis occurs either.
Turkeys: lecithin containing diet (1.00% lecithin) influences the growth the turkey chicks while at the same time suppresses psoriasis. Functions & benefits in feed industry
